Margaret Burnham

Margaret Burnham is a leading expert on civil and human rights and international criminal law. In 1977, she became a Boston Municipal Court judge, thereby making history as the first Black woman to serve in the Massachusetts judiciary. Her distinguished career includes years as a founding partner in a Boston civil rights firm, decades as a law professor, and years of groundbreaking investigation and litigation work on behalf of human and civil rights commissions.
