Mother of the Boston Tea Party
Born into a politically-active Dorchester family, Sarah Bradlee Fulton earned the nickname “Mother of the Boston Tea Party” for her role in supporting the provocative protest against British rule. She holds a prominent place as a politically active woman who participated in the patriot cause and met with powerful men like George Washington.
